My name is Tom, and I am a 25 years old CFI
(Certified Flight
Instructor) in
the San Fernando Valley area. I mainly fly out of Van Nuys
Airport and Whiteman Airport.
I took my first
(discovery)
flight in the summer
of 2017, and was immedetialy hooked. I worked through my
private, instrument, and commercial
certificates (airplane single-engine, land) and eventually
got my instructor certificate in Novermber 2019. I have been
instructing ever since. I have also added
instrument-instructor (CFII) rating (Feb 2020), and
commercial multi-engine rating (May 2020).
Starting November 2019, I have worked as a flight instructor with various flight schools and with
numerous clients in the Van Nuys and Whiteman Airports. I have flown various different single and
twin engine aircraft during my course as a CFI.
During this time I also worked on my B.S. in Computer Science and graduated May 2022 from California
State University - Northridge. Right after graduating, in June 2022, I moved onto the regional
airlines and started flying as an FO for SkyWest Airlines.
I still instruct from time to time as it is something I have enjoyed doing a great deal. Instructing
has been a way for me to share my skills and knowledge with my
students and to
those who possess the same passion as me. When I
instruct I can also further improve myself as a pilot, since I learn a great deal from the people I fly
with and teach.
My total flight experience, last updated Sep 2022.
